Relationship in Crisis?
Let a 4-hour Intensive bring you back together.
There’s resentment, contempt, disconnect, and lack of intimacy in your relationship.
You’re tired of the constant cyclical fights, and you’re feeling stuck in the current dynamic.
You want to overcome your issues, but you don’t know how; and you might even be nervous to try.
If you’re feeling this way about your relationship, a couples intensive may be just what you need to overcome the hurdles you’re experiencing and to receive personalized help to turn things around quickly.
A 4-hour intensive breaks away from the traditional week-to-week hour session and allows you a longer block of time to gain & retain the information and tools that will be given to you. You will also be provided with take-aways and a custom plan for moving forward after the intensive wraps up.
Here’s what you can expect to gain in a couples 4-hour intensive:
- Education on the development of your relationship, stepping stones to intimacy, as well as education on how your brain interferes with your ability to communication.
- Identification on where your unique relationship is stuck, and tools to change the dynamic.
- Exploring self-protective behaviors and how they get in the way of connection and intimacy.
- Tools and guidance to tolerate tension and anxiety in your relationship.
- Identification of autonomous goals, and how to support individual change in addition to your relationship goals.
- Learn and practice communication tools to heal from past hurts, stop harmful patterns, rekindle intimacy, or to rebuild trust.
How a 4-hour intensive works:
Step 1: Consultation
Prior to signing up for an intensive, a free 30 minute consultation with our therapist Lyndsey Murray is required. In this consultation, we will get to know each other and determine if a couples intensive is the right fit for your needs. If this is a right fit, we will schedule the intensive while on the call.
Step 2: Documentation
If it is determined that you would like to move forward with an intensive, you will be emailed a link from our secure, HIPAA-compliant program called SimplePractice. It will feature our practice name, Relationship Matters Therapy, and contain documentation for you to sign electronically.
This documentation covers such items as confidentiality and practice policies, and the program will store everything confidentially in your digital file. Signing and returning these documents allows us to hold the intensive, so please have these completed at least 1 week prior to your appointment.
For intensives, you will also have questionnaires or additional documents to complete that will be reviewed prior to the start of your intensive to help the therapist get to know you ahead of time. This way, we can jump right into the work and make the most of our 4 hours together.
Step 3: Attending the intensive
Because you will have completed all documentation at least 1 week prior to your intensive appointment, there will be nothing for you to sign when you arrive for your appointment. We do offer intensives both virtually and in-person, so if you are arriving at the office, there will be no need to show up early – just arrive at the agreed upon time.
You will be given a binder with an agenda, resources, and takeaways to use both during and after the intensive.
Most importantly, come with an open and honest mind. To really make the most of this, being open to the process and honest with how you feel can go a long way!
Step 4: The aftermath
Once your intensive is finished, you will be provided with the steps forward – whether that be another 4 hour intensive, shorter sessions in the future, or an at-home plan to practice what you learned during your time.
Don’t wait any longer. If you want to break free from being stuck in your relationship and learn new ways to move forward, then a couples intensive is just for you!
